- November 7, 2009: Spoken Word Soul Poetry
Local poets and storytellers of all ages howl at what haunts them in this annual celebration honoring death and loss and celebrating our loved ones who have moved on. Join performers from Tucson and beyond coming together for a special Memorial Reading at Downtown's Main Library Plaza Saturday November 7th, 2009.
- November 7, 2009: Procession of Little Angels
Little Angels is a family-friendly event acknowledging and celebrating deceased loved ones from the perspective of the child. Children participate in art activities such as wing-making and decorating, face painting, sugar skull decorating, story telling, and theater. The public is invited to bring photos and drawings of their children’s deceased loved ones: pets, family and friends. We will scan them on site and project them large on the library wall. Bring a candle in a container to illuminate the children’s procession as the sun sets.
- November 7, 2009: Personal Altars Vigil
The PERSONAL ALTAR VIGIL project is an opportunity to pay homage to deceased loved ones, friends, ancestors, beloved pets, devastated communities, war-torn countries, and others by creating a personal altar in the center of downtown Tucson, within the downtown public library plaza.
- November 6, 2009: Shooting Souls
Show your favorite images depicting literal or figurative depictions of the phenomena of Death. Let your images be seen by the world! 3 Grand Prize Winners and 3 Honorable Mentions will be chosen.
Submission deadline is October 15th, 2009
. Show Opening is Friday, November 6th, at the Historic Hotel Congress.
- October 29, 2009: All Souls International Film Festival 7
The All Souls International Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 2009 Program. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: October 29th, 2009 at the Loft Cinema. The week BEFORE the All Souls Procession Weekend.
- October 22, 2009: Remembering Dinner
Remembering Dinner is the latest project of the ASP Weekend, in which participants contribute treasured recipes from their ancestors and dear friends who have past on.
- October 17, 2009: Potboiler Benefit for ASP Workshops
Tucson Puppet Works is hosting a Potboiler to benefit the ASP Workshops on October 17th. 6pm. Come show your support and be merry! To be held at Splinter Brothers & Sisters Warehouse.
- October 11, 2009: Lantern Making Workshops
Learn the skills to create different types of cardboard and paper lanterns! Lanterns can be lit in a number of ways including battery powered string lights, Glow sticks, etc. Participants are asked to provide their own lighting, and bring some extra to share. Some materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring some materials from home also.
- October 5, 2009: Urn Building Workshops
Help us prepare the URN for the 2009 All Souls Procession. We will be constructing the skin of the giant URN and several smaller urns to obtain collect names, wishes, or anything you wish to put in the Giant URN. We invite you to help create our Legacy together!
- October 4, 2009: Little Angels Costuming Workshops
Kids and their families are welcome to come create a costume, head piece, lantern, or any angel gear to expand their Little Angels experience. We’ll help by providing creative consultation, expert sewing assistance, and materials (while they last). Any supplementary materials for the costumes that can be provided would be a major help! Creative scavenging around the house, thrift-shopping, etc. is strongly encouraged!
- September 22, 2009: Mask Making Workshops
Tucson Puppet Works hosts FREE weekly workshops on Mask and Puppet-Making in preparation for the Parade. Participants are welcome to make a mask, big-head puppet, or human-powered float. No experience is required. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Kids 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
- May 8, 2009: Fine Stream Gamelan this Friday 5/8!
Tucson's own Fine Stream Gamelan will be giving a concert in celebration of their 20th anniversary on
Friday, May 8th at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church.
- February 21, 2009: Carnaval de Tucson
February 21 the second annual Tucson Carnaval celebration will be held in Downtown Tucson’s Armory Park, 220 S. 5th Avenue, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The event will feature a parade at noon and live entertainment, crafts, local food vendors, and family-friendly events in the park and at the Tucson Children’s Museum. Admission to all events and to the Museum will be free.
- February 14, 2009: Valentine’s Cabaret / Fundraiser
Flam Chen creates an evening of whimsy and delight to celebrate the love of your life. Celebrate Valentines day with a treat from Many Mouths One Stomach and also help us complete our remaining financial obligation to the magnanimous All Souls Procession Weekend.

- December 10, 2008: All Souls International Film Festival
The All Souls International Film Festival serves as a forum for people from all cultures to actively explore the phenomena of death through cinema. The ASIFF happens one month after the All Souls Procession, and will take place this year at the Loft Cinema on Wednesday and Thursday, December 10th and 11th, 2008.
