Buckstopper Spotlight

First things first: you want to know what a Buckstopper is, don’t you? Well, you’re probably familiar with the saying, “the buck stops here”. Simply put, it’s an acceptance of total personal responsibility. The term “Buckstopper” was taken up by the grassroots activism movements of the 70′s to instill a sense of commitment and duty among their highly idealistic constituents and to ground them in the practical realities of actualizing those ideals.

In the MMOS scheme-of-things, a Buckstopper is an individual chosen to assume a role needed for the ongoing sustenance of the organization as it expands and evolves, and who accepts this mantle of personal responsibility by giving the best of themselves toward the completion of their appointed charge. They are not an elite; they are not superstars, nor rarefied beings. Like any volunteer who gives their time, energy and creativity to the MMOS mission, they are merely people who care.
