SPEAKING THROUGH THE MOUTH
As with all MMOS endeavors, The Mouth is intended to be a collaborative effort of the community-at-large. That includes you, dear reader! Do you find yourself burning to say something vital on the subjects of creativity, festivity and community? This is your opportunity to share those ideas and inspire others to action. Come and join us in the ongoing conversation that is “The Mouth”. Here’s how.
SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
The Mouth is seeking material on the meaning and importance of self-expression, celebration, inspiration, ceremony, collaboration, and the universal in human experience. We are especially interested in submissions that are able to tie any of these subjects together. Such material can take the form of a discourse; articles and interviews pertaining to efforts underway here in Tucson or elsewhere that manifest the values of festal culture; poetry; or any type of visual work (such as drawing, painting, collage, photograph, or digital).
Articles and Interviews
The suggested length for all articles and interviews is between 1000-1500 words. We ask that all submissions be engaging, tightly focused, and accessible. All articles and interviews must be the original work of those submitting material to The Mouth.
All Other Submissions
The only criterion for offerings of any other type is the core standard for all submissions: that they reflect the field of interest dealt with in The Mouth: creativity, festivity, and community. Any visual work in mediums as described above must be sent as JPEGs under 3 MB. As is the case with articles and interviews, all other types of submissions must be the original work of those submitting material to The Mouth.
SUBMISSIONS PROCEDURE
Once you have your idea, email us at mmos.themouth@gmail.com with a brief pitch about it. We will respond to you shortly with further instruction on how to proceed from there. Final submissions to The Mouth must be in Word document format . We reserve the right to edit all articles and interviews for clarity and length.
